Man Survives Possible Death After 3¼-Inch Nail Lodged In Brain

While the euphoria surrounding Facebook is gripping one and all, there are many amusing cases also heard often related with it. One such case is of Dante Autullo of Orland Park, Illinois, who managed to survive after he was found to have a 3¼-inch nail in his head. The day could not be forgotten when the man got hit by the nail when he was building a shed outside his home. Though he felt something behind his ear, he along with his fiancée could not find anything serious.

It was next morning that the man experienced nausea and severe headache. Then, he was rushed to a nearby hospital at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Illinois. Little was known that the duo was in, for a shocking news, as the X-ray report showed that he was having that nail in his head. It was not less than a shock for the family.

While the man was hurried to the emergency room, he posted the scan of his head in his Facebook account. It seems to be weird in the first place as the man has just met with a possible fatal experience, and even then, he was much bothered about telling the world about his serious condition through Facebook.

Nonetheless, the two-hour surgery saved the man. The doctors have managed to replace the piece of skull with titanium mesh. The man is told to be on the way of recovery now. "It really felt like I got punched on the side of the head," he recalled. "I thought it went past my ear”.

While it would take some time for the family also to accept what they could have faced had they not been to the hospital on time, the brave heart is told to be making quick recovery.
