It has been reported that as many as 13 international groups have joined hands to curb tropical diseases. These international groups consist of pharmaceutical companies like Pfizer and Sanofi. These groups are aiming at achieving their goal by 2020.

With the pursuit of achieving control over the tropical diseases an amount of $785 million has been allotted. The money would be spent over research, developing vaccination and conducting studies. Each and every company would be provided with certain responsibility so that the goals could be achieved timely.

While showing commitment to the cause the Sanofi’s CEO, Christopher Viehbacher said, “I am convinced that through our partnerships and combined efforts, sleeping sickness and lymphatic filariasis will be eliminated and effective control of other neglected tropical diseases will be achieved”.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that GSK has promised of supplying two billion doses of albendazole which is used to cure guinea worm. Representatives of the international groups are hopeful that their partnership would prove helpful in dealing with the diseases.

It has been informed that billions of people are affected with tropical diseases. But with the efforts of the international group it is hoped that control over the disease would be established which would save many from the clutches of tropical diseases.

A number of programs would be run by the international group which will ensure that people are saved from the tropical diseases. Moreover, drugs to treat patients with the tropical diseases would be provided timely by the international groups.

Beside, newer medicines to treat tropical diseases would also be invented. It is hoped that the efforts of the international group proves helpful in eradicating tropical disease which affects billions of people all over the world.
