As per a research that appeared in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, it has been revealed that vulnerability to anthrax disease differs from person to person. Experts said that the main reason for such susceptibility is due to genetic trail that is generally inherited.

A group of researchers from the Stanford University School of Medicine conducted the research in which they studied 234 people. From the study, it has been unveiled that some of the cells are quite sensitive to anthrax toxin and some of the cells are quite rigid to it. So, it majorly depends on genetic makeup of people.

Study author Mikhail Martchenko told that their research has led to a conclusion that if crisis occurs then those people who show more resistant to anthrax would be used as first line covers. Another thing that has been revealed from their research is that major illnesses adopt the same way to attack the human cells.

Some of the common diseases that use same attacking policy are HIV, malaria, leprosy and hepatitis. All these diseases use host genes to infect and then slowly attacks other healthy cells in the body. The study that was funded by the Defense Threat Reduction Agency from the U. S. Department of Defense, has unveiled one thing that all the diseases have their own attacking strategy.

Martchenko told, “We already knew that infection by the same organisms in different people can have different outcomes. But until now it's been very difficult to determine whether this variability was due to genetic or environmental factors”.

It is said to be one of its kind study and everyone from research fraternity has applauded the findings of the story. Alan Rudolph, who is Director of the Chemical and Biological Technologies Directorate at the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, told that research would help them to seek treatment for the disease.
