As the political campaign is moving in its full swing, Republicans have promised steps would be taken to deal with the illegal immigration. In the past few years, the whole world has witnessed that many immigrants have illegally got settled in the US and have been working there.

These illegal immigrations have impacted the economy of the country by manifold. Unemployment has said to have surged because of the growing cases of illegal immigration. But the Republican candidates, Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich have assured that they would work towards ensuring that illegal immigration is dealt with harsh punishment.

They have said that new resources would be placed on the US’s southern area to make it difficult for the illegal immigrants to work in the country. It has further been informed about thousands of additional Homeland Security Department to boarder areas to make it hard for the immigrants to cross the border illegally.

Rick Santorum has also echoed the ideas of the Republican candidates. However, Sen. Marco Rubio has criticized the claims and promises being made by the Republican candidates. Sen. Marco Rubio was reported as saying, “What's the Republican legal-­immigration plan? And that's a problem, when all they hear from you is what you're against and not what you're for”.

It is yet to know whether or not, the Republican candidates would be able to gather votes through their tall promises. If the Republicans are planning to win elections through their tall promises then they should come up with strategies to support their plans. Without the strategies, it might become difficult for them to win the elections. Immigration is no doubt an issue but it is hoped discrimination isn’t being made by the political parties through their gimmicks.
