As per recent reports, it has come to light that Susan G. Komen® South Dakota Affiliate is enthusiastically moving its 2012 Race for the Cure, which will commence from Vermillion’s DakotaDome. All will go all the way down to downtown Sioux Falls on the 30th of September.
Organizers of the event are full of hopes that the fresh location will make it possible for more and more supporters from all over the state to take part in the event. The desire of South Dakota affiliate is focused on growing the race, seeing that more and more money raised by the event interprets into enhanced breast health along with marking effective advancement towards finding a remedy for breast cancer.
While expressing some of the essence of the event, along with mentioning the significance of the support shown by a large number of people from all over the region, Susan G. Komen South Dakota Race for the Cure’s founder and former race chair, Colette Abbott, said that the organizers are deeply thankful to the residents of Vermillion for pushing the Komen Race for the Cure from its early days to a strong group having in excess of 4,000 participants all in all.
“The impact of the Race for the Cure on breast health in our state is only poised to grow as the race moves to Sioux Falls and becomes a truly statewide race”, added Colette.
As much as 75% of the funds generated by the means of the race will be meant for South Dakota and will provide effective support in improving the services and breast health education among the masses. In addition, it has been claimed that the funds will be utilized for breast cancer treatment, screening programs as well as for carrying out research in the same segment.
