Bitter Melon is a natural Cure for Pancreatic Cancer: Study

As per a cancer study done by the University of Colorado, the vegetable of bitter melon can prove as a massive killer of pancreatic cancer cells.

The study which got published in journal 'Carcinogenesis' reveals that if the juice extracted from bitter gourd reduces the ability of the pancreatic cancer cells to metabolize glucose, thus cutting the energy of cells, which ultimately leads to their death.

The researchers are of the view that pancreatic cancer is the worst type of cancer which has as lower as 6% survival rate after it gets diagnosed. But in the laboratory tests, researchers saw 60% ability of reduction in human pancreatic cells with the help of bitter gourd juice.

Rajesh Agarwal from the University of Colorado Cancer Center, who is also professor at the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, said one in 100,000 Indians is affected by pancreatic cancer. He said, "Many researchers are engineering new drugs to target cancer cells' ability to supply themselves with energy, and here we have a naturally-occurring compound that may do just that".
