Men with Heavy Beard Most Attractive, Says Study

While clean-shaved men were found attracting women earlier, it has been discovered in a latest study that men with beard are deemed sexiest.

Men with a 10-day heavy beard were found more attractive by women as compared to their clean-shaven counterparts. It is being said that women rated men who sported five days' worth of stubble as the least attractive.

Hundreds of women as well as heterosexual men were shown pictures of 10 men by the Australian researchers at different stages of beard growth. All men were photographed clean shaven, then with five days growth of beard and later, with 10 days beard re-growth. Following the same, they were photographed with a full beard.

The partakers were then asked to score these pictures in terms of masculinity, attractiveness and health as well as potential parenting ability.

It was noted that most votes amongst the 351 women went to men with a 10-day heavy beard. Full-beard men were rated the most to have potential parenting ability by women and the 177 heterosexual men both.

"A threshold of density and distribution may be necessary for beards to function as an attractive signal", affirmed researchers at the University of New South Wales.
