Indian Filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj Chosen to Direct an Opera

As per recent reports, it has been unveiled that Indian filmmaker and music composer Vishal Bhardwaj will be directing an opera in Paris.

He has been chosen to direct an opera that is based on an Indian folk tale. A Flowering Tree is a story that has been composed by John Adams and is based on a study by AK Ramanujan.

It has been found that the opera will open in Paris on May 2014. When asked from Mr. Bhardwaj, he was of the view that it is quite an exciting task to do. "I am really excited about this new challenge. There are plans for the opera to tour around the world after its Paris season", said he.

He continued by affirming that there are plans of converting his film `'Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola' into an opera. To talk about his next project in bollywood, Mr. Bhardwaj was of the view that his next cinematic project is based on an adaptation of Hamlet.

They will start shooting for the film in November. Mr. Bhardwaj said that they have been planning to launch the film on the 450th anniversary of Shakespeare in 2014. Male lead has been chosen, said Mr. Bhardwaj.

Indian film actor Shahid Kapoor has been chosen to play lead role of Hamlet and the news for the same has been confirmed as well.
