Escaped Circus Elephant Kills 84-Year Old Man

No one could imagine a circus elephant to kill a man, as it seems to be all friendly in the circus. However, an elderly man became prey to an escaped circus elephant, when he was busy playing petanque in his village. The incident took place in Lizy-sur-Ourcq, located in 35 miles east of Paris.

Weighing two tonne this elephant named Tanya, attacked an 84 year-old man with her trunk and after throwing him on the ground she stamped on him. The pensioner succumbed to his injuries after being admitted in the hospital.

According to the eye witnesses, Tanya seemed to be very aggressive and upset. She had escaped after her performance in Lizy-sur-Ourcq.

To run from her enclosure, Tanya used a tarpaulin for covering electric fence and then broke the two barriers of her enclosures to come out.

The family of unnamed victim has decided to take a legal action against the circus authorities for not taking care of the elephant.

This is not for the first time when a circus elephant became a murderer, earlier in 2007, a female elephant attacked her care taker in Moscow zoo, who died later on. The same kind of incident had happened in the year 2001 as well.
