Cessna Citation II takes Injured Sea Turtle to Hospital

Earlier today, a juvenile loggerhead has been transported by New Jersey's private pilot William Kindle to South Carolina Aquarium Sea Turtle Rescue Program.

The 75-pound threatened sea turtle is in need of treatment. Thus, Cessna Citation II aircraft of the Marine Mammal Stranding Center's board member, from Brigantine, took him to Charleston.

The total count of patients at the Aquarium Sea Turtle Hospital has now touched seven. The turtle is being provided with the treatment for its injury.

In early September, the sea turtle was discovered at Forked River's Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station. It was missing the major part of its right rear flipper. The staff found that the left one was not being used by it at all.

The staff at Aquarium's Sea Turtle Hospital had just freed three sea turtles into the wild, the report said. It did not make a delay in responding to the request made by the Northeastern Sea Turtle Coordinator to help the sea turtle by providing it long-term treatment.

It is being said that the turtle would receive the paralyzed limb's physical therapy and the wounded limb's cold laser therapy.

"She's been surviving in the wild. She looks good. But the turtle is thin and blood work shows a lack of protein, so hunting might have been an ordeal", avowed program manager Kelly Thorvalson.
