Apple and Dr. Dre are reportedly working on an original TV show
According to a Hollywood Reporter story, tech giant Apple and Beats Music co-founder Dr. Dre are planning an original TV show, which is -- as of now -- is titled 'Vital Signs.'
Dr. Dre's real name is Andre Young, and he is now an Apple executive; after Apple's $3 billion acqui-hire of Beats Music in 2014.
The Hollywood Reporter story, based on the information shared by an unidentified source familiar with Apple's plans, has revealed that the TV show which Apple and Dr. Dre are working on will apparently be Apple Music project which will be offered via Apple's streaming video device, the revamped Apple TV set-top box. The show will be the first TV series ever to be scripted by Apple.
The source has also disclosed that the 'Vital Signs' TV show is actually Dr. Dre's project, which is being backed by Apple. The executive producer of the show will be Robert Munic, the writer and co-executive producer of Empire.
Though the source did not divulge the expected availability timeline for the original TV show being planned by Apple and Dr. Dre, the reported show will mark Apple's first noteworthy venture on TV; in line with the company's ongoing efforts to make inroads into people's living rooms.
