Amazon launches Dash Button in UK
Bigwig online retailer Amazon has recently announced the launch of the Amazon Dash Button in the UK, marking the introduction of the company’s connected shopping experiences in the country.
The Amazon Dash Buttons are simple fobs priced at $5 each. The buttons are connected to a Wi-Fi network, and give consumers the ability to conveniently re-order a wide range of household products, including coffee, cleaning liquid, cat food, toilet roll, detergent, and a horde of other products.
As such, the Dash Buttons underscore a purposefully straightforward attempt by Amazon to ensure that online shopping is as simple for consumers as possible.
In announcing the launch of the Dash Button in the UK, Amazon said that more than 30 major household brands in the country have already signed up to Dash. Some of these brands include Air Wick, Ariel, Dettol, Andrex, Gillette, Kleenex, Finish, Nicorette, Vanish, Right Guard, Whiskas and Wilkinson.
Launching the Dash Button in the UK, Daniel Rausch -- Director of Amazon Dash -- said that "Dash Buttons offer the convenience of 1-Click shopping from anywhere in the home;” and added: “… they can be placed near those frequently used items you don't want to run out of, and when you see supplies running low, the Dash Button makes it easier than ever to order more. Just press the button and your item is on its way."
