Nissan creates NV200 ‘WORKSPACe’ electric mobile office
Japanese automaker Nissan has created all-electric e-NV200 ‘WORKSPACe’ showcase vehicle, in collaboration with UK-based design firm Studio Hardie.
The all-electric e-NV200 ‘WORKSPACe’ showcase vehicle is essentially an e-NV200 van which has been made to undergo a conversion, so as to enable it to function as a cost-effective mobile office.
As such, the all-electric showcase van basically unfolds professional office environment on wheels. The key objective behind the creation of the showcase van is to highlight one of the possibilities with relation to the so-called “hot-desking” spaces, particularly because their use is becoming more common.
Some of the most noteworthy features of Nissan’s e-NV200 ‘WORKSPACe’ showcase van include an integrated fold-out desk; a touchscreen computer; wireless internet; Bluetooth audio system; smartphone-controlled LED lights; wireless smartphone charging.
In addition, the showcase van also features a mini fridge, a “barista-quality” coffee machine.
Meanwhile, drawing attention to the fact that the e-NV200 WORKSPACe project will likely expand beyond a concept in future, Gareth Dunsmore -- the Director of Electric Vehicles at Nissan Europe -- said: “With hot-desking and remote working on the rise, it is not too big a leap to see a future where our vehicles will become connected, energy efficient, mobile workspaces.”
