Snap accepting online orders for spectacles at $129.99
Snapchat owner Snap Incorporated has launched online orders for video recording spectacles with price tag of $129.99. As Snap is ready to hit stock markets with its initial public offer, the company management is aiming to showcase revenue generation potential of the company. The spectacles will be shipped between two to four weeks after order on Spectacles.com.
Charging cases will be available for $49.99 and charging cods can be purchased at $9.99. Earlier, Snap shared that response it received for its video-recording spectacles wasn’t as good compared to production and operating costs.
The glasses can record videos between 10-30 seconds at a time. It has been closely integrated with Snapchat and users can easily control various options on their smartphone.
Google had launched Google Glass few years back but the project couldn’t generate enough revenue for the company. Later, Google’s parent company Alphabet scrapped Google Glass project.
Many popular online services have failed to generate enough revenue to justify valuations. Most of these companies have successfully raised money from stock market but investors lost money as these companies couldn’t report profit as per Wall Street expectations. Facebook also faced lower valuations for many quarters in the stock market before the company started reporting strong profit from advertising on its network.
