Four Prominent Australian Personalities to Promote DonateLife
Four prominent personalities of Australia were appointed as the ambassadors of DonateLife. Parliamentary Secretary for Health and Ageing, Ballarat MP Catherine King, announced Amanda Keller, Denise Drysdale, Derryn Hinch and Tania Major as promoters of organ and tissue donation in Australia.
Ms. King said that the appointment of ambassadors would be helpful in promoting the noble cause of organ donation. These people were appointed to promote the organ donation because they have been directly affected by the issue and have expressed their interest in it.
Ms King revealed that nearly 1700 people are waiting for organ donation and about $151 million has been granted by the federal government to increase the rate of organ donation in Australia.
She told that with the grant of donation has increased the rate of organ donation across the nation but still the organization has a long way to go.
She thanked the ambassadors of DonateLife for championing the cause and encouraging Australians about life-saving and life-changing gift of organ and tissue donation.
