Robot Soccer Team to Be On the Pitch

This week, a soccer tournament is going to see robot soccer teams from a total of 40 nations partaking in it in Eindhoven, Netherlands.

As per the report, the aim of the organizers is to try to put one robots' team on the pitch by the arrival of 2050 that could beat a human soccer players' team.

However, the real play of the mechanical athletes is sure not to raise fear in their human counterparts' heart. The folks directing their actions in the tournament this year have themselves said the same.

It is being said that the android partakers would be a marvel to be seen in RoboCup 2013. The University of Bonn's Marcell Missura was of the view that a three-year-old might win while competing against any the humanoid team.

The RoboCup "teen" humanoid division of last year in Mexico City was won by NimbRO team of three-foot-tall soccer-playing robots of Missura, the report found.

"By mid-21st century, a team of fully autonomous humanoid robot soccer players shall win soccer game, complying with the official rule of the FIFA, against the winner of recent World Cup", said the pledge by RoboCup organizers on the official website of the competition.
