New Smartphone App Will Be Able to Give Early Tremor Warnings
According to a latest report, researchers will now be able to track earthquakes beforehand with the help of a newly designed smartphone app. It has been revealed by the researchers that this new app will be capable of providing early warning of the earthquakes.
According to the researchers, this new technological tool will be most probably ready by next year.
The researchers explain that this smartphone app will be capable of giving an earthquake alert, one minute or a few seconds beforehand, approximately. Its alert system will also depend upon the fact that where it is being used by the user in relation to the epicenter, according to the scientists at the World Science Forum in Rio de Janeiro.
According to a latest report, this new technological app will be based upon an early warning system, which has been prepared by a team under the Director of the UC Berkeley Seismological Laboratory, Professor Richard Allen.
According to the researchers this app will be able to capture the initial energy from a tremor in advance and will be capable of providing a signal about the same before its commencement.
Richard Allen, who is the director of the UC Berkeley Seismological Laboratory, said, "All we need is a telephone at the epicenter of the quake which detects it and sends the information (saying) `I felt a jolt, I am in this place' to a server".
